Mr. Veleanu has dedicated his career to the representation of indigent persons sentenced to death. From 1998 to 2008, he was an attorney at the Law Office of the Capital Collateral Regional Counsel for the Southern Region of Florida. From 2008 to 2022, Mr. Veleanu was an Assistant Federal Defender in the Capital Habeas Unit at the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. In 2022, Mr. Veleanu joined the Office of the Federal Defender for the Middle District of Florida as an Assistant Federal Defender in the Capital Habeas Unit. Mr. Veleanu has represented persons sentenced to death through all stages of their state and federal habeas corpus proceeding.
